Geez! Where were you guys when we did our background in the 180? We bought slate and used silicone on it.... waited three weeks! and then set the tank up put one fish in there and it died. tried the feeder goldfish... died... finally we got so upset we took down the tank and had to pill off every single tile and some of the silicone never cured! so we have to razor blade the whole tank to get off all the cured silicone and then my husband decided just to paint the back black because he was so frustrated with everything! I would love one of those backgrounds though!!! I have always wanted one! Does this guy have an email address?

you used the wrong silicone.. and it killed your fish.. i did that twice lol.. ruined 2 backgrounds... siliconing rocks to the back of the tank makes the tank really heavy if you ever need to move the tank you are screwed.. these backgrounds are much better.. yes he has an email address.. its fishtankdesign3d@aol.com make sure you mention my name :) hes a busy guy and kind of hard to get ahold of.. im thinking maybe he'll do some kind of group buy with the site where everyone gives him their orders at the same time and he dedicates a week to us or something and just bangs them all out... i had him make me 4 of them so it took awhile... hit him up..

is it too late to get in on this group buy thing? I have been looking at the diy stuff and I dont have the space in my apt to make them. seems fairly simple just time/space consuming.

yea i dont think they did it yet.. and believe me its not easy.. like yea the concept is easy but you wouldnt believe the attention to detail with the painting aspect of it.. i personaly have no artistic talent whatsoever.. i cant paint anything im horrible at it.. the way he painted and carved the backgrounds was really cool.. ive seen alot of diy backgrounds and most peoples dont look real.. mine def do.. he can make you whatever style you want whatever colors.. i was very specific with him and he did a very good job accomodating me
